At Home and On The Trail
Dan’s a native of the Roaring Fork Valley and studied architecture, inspired by a childhood love of Legos. While working his way through college, a tradesman warned Dan that to be a good designer, he needed to truly understand buildings… inside and out. Dan took this to heart and as such he has been a home inspector, general contractor, project manager, an energy consultant, and an architectural designer.
As an entrepreneur, Dan started his first design/build business at age 23, later built a successful mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering (MEP) team in the Roaring Fork Valley, and created an asset management consulting practice for municipalities and businesses.
Later in life Dan learned that the same lesson applied to people, and to be a good leader, he needed to understand people…inside and out. As such he’s been mayor of Carbondale, a youth coach, a CMC instructor for commercial building systems, and a nonprofit CEO.
Through it all, Dan has honed his skills of listening, communication, customer service, project management and design, and leadership. He finds his meaning and purpose in empowering others, problem-solving, exceeding expectations, and getting to know people and property… inside and out.
