FRYINGPAN RIVER & BASALT
The Fryingpan’s Gold Model Waters are perhaps the best in Colorado for wading. Upstream Ruedi Reservoir provides regulated flows for the Fryingpan, as well as excellent backcountry access and even a “yacht” club where many residents keep sail boats.
There are quite a few properties still available on the Fryingpan River. Once very bullish, seller’s are finally starting to reduce some of their ridiculously high asking prices. A few high end properties have recently gone under contract which has created some much needed momentum. As for beauty and the quality of fishing, this valley can’t be beat.
The Fryingpan River area is very rural, with Basalt being the nearest town. Properties are very large so your closest neighbors will be plentiful wildlife and beautiful cottonwoods.
Aspen’s airport makes the area convenient. Dining options are ubiquitous while grocery shopping is somewhat limited. You’ll be driving in to town for all services, but the right property is worth it. Be warned, there is no high speed internet the further up the river you go!
The Aspen School District and are a private schools are highly sought after. They offer many activities and clubs that few down valley schools are able to offer such as skiing. Children in Snowmass attend the Aspen school.
The Fryingpan River is an angler’s paradise. Its Gold Medal waters are highly seasonal but have regulated flows from Ruedi Reservoir.
